Learning Opportunity 2: Plant Adaptations
This Learning opportunity has five tasks to do.
Target Time: 60 minutes.

Task 1: Write down your ideas.
Why do you think these plant organs are so important?

Task 2: Copy a diagram. Then use the sentences and video to complete the diagram.
Copy this diagram. Next read the text underneath and watch the video.
Finally, fill in all the missing words.

READ: Plants need water and carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. They also need to absorb light energy. Different parts of the plant are adapted to do this.

Only the first 6:45 minutes are needed. The rest of the video is useful revision from last lesson!

Task 3: Describe two cells by writing a paragraph and copying some sentences.
Look at these two pictures. Then answer the questions about each picture.
The palisade cell:

Describe how a palisade cell is adapted for its function of photosynthesis.
